We are pleased to announce that MEDport LLC is under the control of new ownership. Ironwood Capital LLC has teamed with the MEDport management team and the estate of Jeff Jacober to re-capitalize MEDport and position the company for continued growth. Under the new ownership, the management remains largely in tact with the following changes.
Larry Wesson is the new President and CEO of MEDport.
Brian Carey will serve as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Chuck Miga will continue as the Vice President of Product Development and Global Operations.
Jim Shuster who has served MEDport as the Vice President of Sales since its inception has established The Shuster Group, an independent Sales and Marketing Agency. Jim will continue his relationship with MEDport in this new role while also working with a select group of other manufacturers. We wish Jim all the best as he embarks on this new endeavor.
Sasha Corrente has been promoted and will serve as our National Sales Manager. Sasha has worked to grow several of our largest customers over the past four years. This promotion is in recognition of her accomplishments.
Steven DaSilva has recently joined MEDport as director of marketing and strategic development. Steve will be responsible for brand planning, management and marketing of the company’s full suite of digital health monitoring and wellness management product lines. Steve brings to MEDport over 14 years of corporate leadership and brand development experience. Most recently, he served as President and chief executive officer for SwimEx, Inc. from 2002 to 2004 during which time he was selected by RI Economic Development Corporation to participate in its Rhodes Builder Program. In 2004, he was profiled in Rhode Island Monthly as one Rhode Island’s top ten emerging entrepreneurs. Prior to that, DaSilva was division manager for TPI Composites, Inc. from 1991 to 2002.
As you may know, MEDport tragically lost its owner, Jeff Jacober, in a private airplane crash last spring. The employees and management of MEDport are committed to continue on in his honor, developing high quality and innovative health and wellness products that meet the needs of consumers. The recent successes of our TIMEX Healthcare and Fit & Fresh healthy food on the go products will form the cornerstones of our future success.
